Charis Foundation’s journey in community development began in 2004, when our founders stepped in to support the fisherfolk in Tamil Nadu affected by a devastating tsunami.
What started as emergency relief—providing food, shelter, and care for affected children—laid the foundation for our ongoing commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities across Tamil Nadu.

We bridge this gap by enrolling them in transition programs that provide the support and guidance needed to integrate seamlessly into formal schooling.
Essentials Needs Support
Underprivileged communities are in a constant fight for survival – lacking basic resources like food, clean water, shelter and clothing.
With generous donations, we provide these basic essentials to the underprivileged.
Livelihood & Financial Aid
Charis Foundation equips underprivileged youth and adults with employable skills like tailoring, driving, handicrafts & typing.
We empower them to earn a steady income & support their families. We also provide financial assistance during their transition to self-sufficiency.
